4 SERIES D PLATE CAMERA BODY - NO LENS. 4 Series D Plate Camera was introduced in 1902 and discontinued the next year.
Apparently, there were only 2,100 produced. The camera was originally offered with either a Rapid Rectilinear or a higher grade Plastigmat lens. According to Kodak literature, the camera provided features for the professional and serious amateur. Front standard with rise/fall and shift. The back could swing around so as to tilt the plane of focus.
Also included double extension bellows for close-up work. This camera body has some condition issues - please read below and ask questions if needed. If you are interested in this camera, please take the time to read this entire listing describing the camera and condition - it has a couple of conditions noted below. Please also note that I cannot field test cameras, so this might require some adjustments. Missing One Swing/Tilt Back Lock Keys. Front Bed snaps closed as intended.
Exterior: Looks great for a 120 year old camera. Leather nice, has original handle strap. No Lens - Lens Mount Flange Included.
Bellows: Bellows are super clean - see photos. It is possible there is a pinhole of two, but a bright light assessment into the bellows did not detect any light leaks. Interior: Very nice polished Mahogany - some marks - see photos. Focusing Bed: Focusing is smooth.
Finder: Finder mirror has oxidation/corrosion. Removable Back - Back Does Not Clip Off & On - I removed the back and the sliding latch moves, but will not clip off the main body - not sure why. Then request a combined invoice.
I do my best to describe items accurately and fairly.
